Gunwharf Quays

The Gunwharf Quays WHW Steering Committee decided the best way to launch the programme would be to invite everyone to a festively themed ‘Red and Green Lunch’ just before Christmas. It was an ideal opportunity to not only promote healthy eating, but to take a lunch break with colleagues and to celebrate the festive season. In addition, it allowed the Committee to advertise the events for the following 12 months and to ask for suggestions of any other issues employees would like to be covered within the programme.

Jogging Group

Why it got started

A suggestion that came through our Staff Involvement Forum (SIF) in August 2008 was that Portsmouth City Teaching Primary Care Trust (PCT) should consider starting its own running club. SIF meets bi-monthly and the members of the group are representatives of all the services within the PCT. Suggestions are forwarded from staff via various communication routes and are considered for their feasibility for progression.
