WHWH is a scheme supported by Portsmouth City Council and the Portsmouth City Teaching Primary Care Trust to provide local businesses with the tools to encourage and promote healthier workplaces.
(Members only)
The Work Health and Wellbeing Hallmark is a new initiative aimed at encouraging employers and staff to take small steps towards a healthier, fitter and more rewarding workplace and lifestyle.
The workplace has a powerful effect on workers' health, including how people feel about themselves and their environment. This affects job satisfaction and productivity as well as the health and wellbeing of staff.
Traditional attempts to create healthy workplaces have focused on the safety of the physical environment and preventing injuries. More recent programmes have been designed to encourage healthier individual behaviour by providing support, information and skill training.
WHWH recognises the contribution of the business world in making life a positive and rewarding experience for employees by providing a framework for a practical approach to staff health and wellbeing.
